Turkey leftovers have the potential to take over the refrigerator if not consumed, in a timely fashion. Turkey leftovers, turkey sandwiches, how much turkey can one family eat after the holidays? Aside from turkey sandwiches, what else is there? There is a recipe to help your family consume the turkey leftovers. However, no name has been given to the recipe, yet. Feel free to call the recipe what you like, your family will enjoy this leftover turkey recipe as an alternative to filling their tummy’s with a dry leftover turkey sandwich one more time.

Things You’ll Need

Things You’ll Need: * Turkey leftovers * 6 servings of instant rice * 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup * 1 bag of frozen baby carrots * 2 jars of turkey gravy

Step 1

If your turkey leftovers are still on the bone then place the turkey in a large pan, fill it with water and boil the meat off of the bone.

Step 2

Cook your instant rice according to the directions on the package.

Step 3

Boil your baby carrots on the stove top

Step 4

Once your rice is finished cooking put it in a large baking dish and mix the two cans of cream of mushroom soup through the rice.

Step 5

When the baby carrots have finished cooking, remove them from the stove, and drain the water.

Step 6

Grab your baking dish

Step 7

Stir the cooked and drained baby carrots into your large baking dish with the rice and cream of mushroom.

Step 8

Remove the leftover turkey from the boiling water. Use a pair of kitchen tongs and a sharp knife to get the rest of the leftover turkey away from the bone. Try to get the leftover turkey off of the bone in larger pieces, but not too large. Make the pieces about the size of the palm of your hand. If you cannot get the leftover turkey off the bone in that size, it will not be a big deal. It is just easier to serve when the leftover turkey is the size of the palm of your hand.

Step 9

Place the leftover turkey pieces in your large baking dish, on top of on top of the mixture you created. Just lay the leftover turkey on top without attempting to arrange it.

Step 10

Open your two jars of turkey gravy. Pour one of the jars of turkey gravy over your mixture that is in your large baking dish. Cover the leftover turkey with the gravy. Open your second jar of turkey gravy and pour it over the mixture as well. You will want to make sure that all the leftover turkey is covered with gravy, to prevent the leftover turkey from tasting dry.

Step 11

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. After your oven is preheated, place your leftover turkey recipe into the oven for twenty minutes.

Step 12

Remove from the oven after twenty minutes has passed. When filling the dinner plates, make sure each plate gets a larger piece of leftover turkey. Put the rice, carrots, and cream of mushroom mixture beside the leftover turkey as a side dish.
