Some people say that any publicity is good publicity but Sarah Palin reportedly disagrees with that principle. The upcoming issue of Newsweek features Palin in her running outfit leaning against the American flag with the title “How Do You Solve A Problem Like Sarh?” The cover clearly emphasizes Palin’s looks over her intellect and explicitly frames Palin as a source of trouble for the GOP as opposed to a leader. As Palin attempts to beef up her policy credentials and rebrand her image with the release of her book “Going Rogue” the Newsweek cover is exactly the image she is trying to overcome.
Realizing the impact of the cover Palin has reportedly responded on her Facebook page with the following message:
The choice of photo for the cover of this week’s Newsweek is unfortunate. When it comes to Sarah Palin, this “news” magazine has relished focusing on the irrelevant rather than the relevant. The Runner’s World magazine one-page profile for which this photo was taken was all about health and fitness – a subject to which I am devoted and which is critically important to this nation. The out-of-context Newsweek approach is sexist and oh-so-expected by now. If anyone can learn anything from it: it shows why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, gender, or color of skin. The media will do anything to draw attention – even if out of context. ”
The Newsweek cover is yet another example of Palin’s continual struggle with the media. In one way the press is Palin’s best friend as their coverage of her has made her a household name who is able to sell millions of books before it is even released. On the other hand the media has continually painted a picture of Palin which (right or wrong) delegitimize her before much of the American public.
No stranger to baring her body for the camera, Joanna Krupa talks to Access Hollywood about posing for the December 2009 issue of Playboy. To the site she says, “You know, the only reason I did it is because one of the most amazing photographers – Rankin. He’s one of the top photographers in the world.”
Gushing about her pictorial for the men’s magazine, Joanna however won’t confirm if her spread will include nudity or not. She simply reveals, “It’s all [done] with taste, class. It’s very artistic. It’s going to take Playboy to a level they’ve never gone before, so it’s going to be really classy and beautiful.”
The year 2005 marked Joanna Krupa’s first time ever to be featured on the cover of Playboy. At that time, the print publication named her Sexiest Swimsuit Model in the World.
Joanna is currently participating in the season 9 of “Dancing with the Stars”. She is partnered with professional dancer and choreographer Derek Hough.
